THE RIBEIRA SACRA

Ribeira Sacra is a spectacular wine region in Galicia. Our vineyard is located in Chantada, the northernmost sub-region known for producing fresh white wines and smooth, young reds. Viticulture here is "heroic" due to the steep slopes and terraced farming, making the work extremely manual. However, the passion and dedication of the viticulturists are reflected in the unique wines produced here. Ribeira Sacra is a wine gem that must be explored by all wine lovers.

The Ribeira Sacra Denominación de Origen was officially established in 1997 after several years of joint efforts and work between viticulturists and authorities to establish regulations and quality criteria for wines produced in the region.

If you have the opportunity to visit Ribeira Sacra, I highly recommend making a stop at the Ribeira Sacra Museum in Monforte de Lemos. This museum offers a unique and interactive experience to learn about the history, culture, and traditions of the region, as well as the process of producing local wines.

Furthermore, if you are a wine lover, you will be delighted to know that the museum has a shop where you can directly purchase from a wide selection of Ribeira Sacra wines. From reds to whites, sparkling to sweet, the variety of local wines available in the shop is impressive.

This museum also houses the offices of the Regulatory Council of the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin, making it an ideal place to learn about local wines and their regulations.
